my bad
this is about consoles cost less but to get a computer similar to the power cost you much more than the console

I would like you to take a look at Sony's and Microsoft's gaming divisions and tell me how much money they have made recently.  Microsoft in its two consoles has just recently pulled a profit, but still 5.5 billion in the hole, and Sony has lost 3.3 billion in the last two years, and just now able to break a profit outside of the holiday quarter.  That is why you can buy a console for cheaper than a comparable computer.  But then again, you pretty much need a computer now days, and you would be hard pressed to find one without at least 2gb of ram and pretty much all have a decent core 2 duo processor, so all you really need is a video card to add to it and you can get an nvidia 8800 for as low as $80.  195 reviews, 89% gave it a 5/5.  So buy a new computer every 5 or 6 years when a new console comes out since your old one would be showing its age, get cheap video card and you can play 90% of the games on at least medium settings for the next couple of years.
