I'd agree - particularly as I've stuck 250GB in mine.  I wonder though whether it's actually cheaper for Sony to do this.  The HDD is a standard portable drive and it probably costs more to get someone to provide 40GB than just take 120GB off the shelf from someone already set up to produce them.

 

to me the HDD in the PS3 is irrelevant as it is a standard drive.  I'm always amazed people don't see it as a starter drive and whip it out as/when it suits them.  It's not like 360 with its expensive proprietary drives.  You can shop around and get the best deal possible.

 

I'd actually prefer Sony to sell PS3 with no HDD and simply allow you to add drive yourself as I'm only paying for a pretty small (by current standards) portable HDD drive that I'm going to remove right away and store in a drawer...



Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
