Okay, I named two new franchises: Spore and LBP.
I think Spore will be a multi-million seller on PC & Mac because Will Wright's games are very often very successful for a reason. I remember when my preferred PC game magazines rated the first Sims game back in 2000 (was it only 8 years ago? It feels more like decades): From their reviews I got the feeling they expected something different (maybe a Sims in SimCity on a larger scale), they didn't really know what to think of it and gave it ratings around 75. Despite the mediocre reception by some reviewers (and many SimCity fans), The Sims quickly became a huge worldwide phenomenon. Today Spore is already widely covered even by mass media outside game magazines/websites and the Spore Creature Creator was already a success months before the real game releases. Just like SimCity and The Sims, Spore contains so many different elements that it appeals to many kinds of both, dedicated gamers and once-in-a-while gamers.
We already know that Sony have high hopes on LBP and they really push the game now (see for example the clever E3 presentation & the advertisement at Leipzig GC). I'm not sure if the game will attract many people to buy a PS3, but - even if not - I think it will be quite a success among the current PS3 owners alone. It will not be as nearly as succesful as Spore, but it will easily sell more than 1 million, maybe even a lot more. I would be very surprised if LBP would become a commercial failure.
