Really good?

I was expecting a watered down kiddy movie, and looking at the audience surrounding me and the trailers preceeding the film, it seems my expectations were on the mark. However, to my surprise this film delivered a stunning and refreshing Star Wars experience that greatly complimented the Emmy Award Winning Clone Wars Animated TV series. While the movie delivered an experience far more informal than one would expect from a Star Wars film and relied on a modest pre-existing knowledge of the back story of the animated TV series, it was a really good movie.

Surprisingly reviews of the movie haven't been so kind and most seem to be rooted in not being able to appreciate this as what it ended up being, a fun side adventure which acts as supplementary matterial for the main movies and Star Wars cannon. The Movie really is targeted at kids, but ironically contains far less slapstick than the main movies and far more violence and bloody battle.

While the film does advertise itself as a telling of the lost clone wars chapter, it really is only one small interlude in the much larger clone wars story as a whole fitting neatly within the ambiguity of the second season of the Clone Wars animated series.
