Wait are you meaning to say this is a real game. I thought it was an internet myth of some sort. I thought it was proven that this game was fake, and did not actually exist. Honestly at this point I think it is actually quite likely that this game will be delayed a couple more years. By which point success or failure will be purely anecdotal for generation next.
The problem with the game has to be the expense. The game will fail to recoup the losses regardless, and more to the point will not prove anything remotely valid about the hardware, because no third party developer or Sony themselves will sink this kind of budget into any game for the PS3 ever again.
The game has almost become symbolic of its console, and thus it is too dangerous to risk the loss. The budget is so astronomical that Sony cannot afford to bring this game to market. They are just going to sit on this title for more then another year, and make excuses for the delay. That way they protect the symbol, and only once the symbol starts to tarnish will you see this game.
What will the result be by the time this game arrives most everyone will have forgotten about it in general. Oh on these forums there will be holy retribution for its failures, but it will probably not even turn a Sony loyalist at this point. No by the time this game shows up the debate will be about which is better this game or Halo 4.
