| Domicinator said: Another one of these threads, huh? The July NPD numbers meant the end for the 360, so a bad game does too, right? Sarcasm aside, I think Too Human is one of the weirdest situations I've seen in a long time. I have never seen a game where people are trying SO HARD to like it. Even I got sucked into it. I downloaded the demo, and at first glance it seems like an awesome game. The cut scenes look gorgeous, the combat is cool, and the all around vibe of the game is good. Then I tried actually playing the game and I just couldn't wrap my head around it. The controls were maddening. I always think the mark of good controls is when I forget all about the controller and I'm not thinking "X does this and Y does this". If a game has truly good controls, you can probably get to that point within a half hour of playing. I played all the way through the Too Human demo and I don't feel like I ever got the hang of it. People wanted so much for this game to be good. I probably wasn't going to buy it either way, but I found myself rooting for it too. And I still don't even fully understand why. |
Huh??? The concept was VERY cool, and the 4-player mode was also a big selling point, so scrapping that was a big bummer. WRT the demo, I thought the controls were not as efficient as they could have been, but in many respects, I found them to be somewhat like DMC4 in "getting the hang of." In the demo, once i acutally spent a few minutes getting a hang of the control, it strated to really click for me, and I, for one, have already purchased the game at BB ,and I can't wait for it. I'm not sure what all this...."I have never seen a game where people are trying SO HARD to like it..." is all about. I've PLAYED the demo, and based on that, I've BOUGHT the game...so what's trying about it...I DO like it. Money talks, and that's going to be the true measure of whether it's deemed a success and the speed to which we get the CONSOLE EXCLUSIVE sequels.
