How many girls even have a blu-ray player? Unless their brother or parents own a player, I don't see teen girls being one of the bigger demographics for blu-ray ownership.

It's more for middle upper class families with children of the appropriate age for Hannah Montana, High School Musica and other Disney properties.

There's a definite market for Disney animated films in HD/Blu-Ray (bought once, watched ad nauseum), but that hardly means the children these movies appeal to most own their own Blu-Ray players either.

Same thing applied when DVD was a new, premium format and new movies were about $30 each. Most middle class families stuck with VHS until the DVD format became more mass market friendly.

But no, it won't mean anyone's rushing out to buy a Blu-Ray player to watch Hannah Montana in HD. It just means families that already have HD cable, HDTV and a Blu-Ray player will buy it on Blu-Ray rather than DVD.
