I am not convinced MS won't bring a new console out in 2009.
It is the surest way to increase weekly sales: sell it to the XBOX faithful, and there are ~20 million of them right now.
A new XBOX would:
- allow them to cross over to a motion controller "in the box" with backwards compatibility to the 360 controller
- full compatibility; reflects good faith in light of RRoD
- reverse the downward sales trend
My predictive abilities are pretty bad (I thought motion tracking Fatal Frame IV and Boom Blox for all platforms at E3... so hey...), but at least there are definitely are positive reasons for a new XBOX next year (I'd say mentioned at Winter CES)
