Take this with a grain of salt as I prefer the Xbox360 and Wii heavily over the PS3, however the following tidbits are positive points for the system:

No region lock.
Decent amount of online offerings in the free set-up (I forget what this is called, is it the Silver?)
Wi-Fi.
Generally more reliable hardware than the Xbox360.

Otherwise: Indifferent to Blu-Ray, SIXAXIS controllers were little more than a gimmick that bordered on fiasco, same crappy d-pad as the previous incarnations, uncomfortable L2 and R2 triggers, ridiculous price, too many variations in models, not enough variation in games or the controller from previous generation. Sony's cocky attitude was like sandpaper on my nerves. Console itself too similar to Xbox360 and, for that matter, previous generation in overall games and gameplay (this particular note can also be said about the X360, however, Sony had another year to make the PS3 "more different" from the X360 and didn't bother doing it).
