We had a kitten hanging around our yard once and if it spotted me it would move like an orange streak of lightning. We had to put out food with a box propped up with a board with string attached. We waited until the kitten arrived and pulled out the board dropping the cardboard box over the kitten. We saved it from freezing and found it an owner. If you don't want to try to trap it then you can drug the food. Your best bet though might be to contact animal rescue or the SPCA. Finally, do not try approaching it, it takes days to gain their trust and they are not easy to catch.
