Even if you include mass shifting (shapeshifting alone would leave you the same size roughly) all it would mean is you can get through small spaces... but you wouldn't need to go through the space with mind control.

illusionary skills is the best. for example

conjuring fake fire in your hands that feels hot to people. making people think you looked like something. creating landscapes that were not real.

its a step less than mind control, and a step ahead of shapeshifting, but it would be an amazing difficulty altering experience, that being, something that strategically and tactically evolves with the challenge. would be of endlesss entertainment forever.
