Physically possible, yeah it is in theory they'd just have to link the servers up and make the consoles able to access both.
In reality, I wouldn't hope for it as Microsoft and Sony would have to shake hands and work together and help each other.
Short answer: Yes possible but don't hold your breath for it to happen.
