It's the kind of game you have to own even if you don't have a PSP... I know it, because that's what I did!
Only thing I really hate about the PSP is the D-pad. It's so damn hard to play a SHMUP on it because it seems like you can't go diagonally unless you press a brick on the pad! I even modded it with a round cardboard piece, and taped it on top of it (when I rented one a year ago, not sure if the Slim's is better). And playing with the PSP's stick feels awkward and not the best precision you need when playing this type of game...
