I just came back from a 3 week vacation to europe.. my mind is fried and I can't put a proper sentence or paragraph together.. so bare with me.

After reading all the crap that I've missed in the past month I believe the following things (point form FTW!!):

- The PS3 price cut shows that a reasonable priced PS3 can outsell the 360, even if the 360 has a stronger library.

- This is the turning point in the console war

- I believe that Microsoft will go retarded and only cut the cost of their console by $50, which I believe will have very little effect of 360 sales or rising PS3 sales

- I believe that Halo 3 will not have online coop and dissappoint millions of 360 users

- I believe that Bungie will promise a patch for online coop like they did for Halo 2 and not deliver it...  then believe that Haze (which has 4 player online coop) will be a better game

- I believe Microsoft will not improve Xbox Live, or offer better service to it's users..

- I believe Microsoft will raise the price of MS points and/or Gold Membership fees.

- I believe that HD DVD format is dead (Also hoping that Blu Ray dies along with it cause movies will cost to much on that medium)

- I believe if Microsoft released a new console in 7 years no one would buy it for fears of product quality.. therefore...

- I believe this is Microsofts last Console

- and finally I believe Peter Moore left because he knew that the end of the 360 was coming

Yeah.. that pretty much sums up how I feel right now...

Okay. Im a X360 fanboy too, and I don't see things anywhere near the way you do.
1. Is that really any oddity? The PS3 SHOULD sell better than the X360 after a $100 price drop. Remember, the PS2? It did have a 120m fanbase. It had so many users for a reason, and with a price drop, it's obvious that a $500 system with greater specs and pedigree will outsell the PS3. But lets not forget - since PS3 launched, the X360 has nearly sold 2:1 in the US. 2 weeks do not make an entire generation. If that was the case, the PS3 is doomed to Gamecube-Like numbers in Japan.
2. The turning point starts on September 25th, not July 24th, buddy.
3. I do agree and worry they'll do this. But if you haven't read the forums, the big rumor is that MS is dropping the price August first by $100 on all models, and throwing in a free memory card for the core units @ $199. What say you then, if this is the case?
4. As far as I know, Bungie has already said the 4p co-op is a done deal. With the way Gears of War did, they have alot of extra inititive to do this too.
5. And Left 4 Dead will be better than Haze, with it's 4p c-op, so your point is moot :)
6. Since XBL has come out, on Xbox, MS has made Silver memberships free, added demos of nearly every game out there, added movies, partnered with Comedy Central, and many other places to offer free downloadable movies and TV shows, has over 250+ movies, nearly streamed everything from E3 to users, and gave away tons of free E3 content, and so on. All this in a span of 5 years. Nintendo has no online, and Sony is just starting. I fail to see why MS would stop where they are, expecially with online starting to heat up.
7. Doubtful. They need the sales from points and gold memberships to keep themselves afloat, as it's a huge boon for their profitability and 3rd parties as well. They haven't raised it since inception, why now?
8. And how does HD-DVD losing effect the X360? That's exactly why MS didn't addopt HD-DVD in the first place.
9. Early PS1's were terribly unreliable, and so were early PS2s. I fail to see how their issues really effected sales.
10. MS has invested 10b into the Xbox program. I don't see them dreamcasting it, when they are far too profitable, and see themselves losing FAR more money than they have now, if they allow Sony and Nintendo to eventually do set-top boxes themselves.
11. Moore probably did leave due to problems, but people are free to make their own decisions.
Lord N - The X360 is far outpacing the Xbox. It's already crossed the LTD line in Japan, and well on it's way to double Xbox's sales, is 1m units ahead in the US, if not more, and is about even with Xbox 1 in Europe. Add in the fact that it's going to last more than 4 years, and it easily outsells the Xbox. The PS3 sells better than the X360? Shouldn't it? We're talking about the #1 console that sold 6:1 against the Xbox, barely selling 1:1 now with the X360. Thats a huge difference. Who really gives a crap if it can't outsell the PSP? The Wii + PS3 + X360 can't outsell the DS worldwide!

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
