I hated the beginning though. It was like...30 mins of dialogue or something. Yeesh.

The intro is fairly long (though shorter than Okami's IIRC). Even with that intro, there's still a lot that needs to be explained.

 

I never played it but I am pretty sure Okami's intro was 20 minutes and VP's intro was 45 minutes.

Was Silmeria's intro...30 minutes or 45 minutes or whatever long too? I never played it. I hope VP DS doesn't have an intro that long =/

If you hate VP intros, then you would definitely hate Lost Odyssey's intro.  After the first 15 minutes in LO, you will spend the next hour and a half doing nothing but walking and watching cutscenes in that game.
