I'm about to buy a Wii, but I need some advice.

but the c-stick is completly redundant and useless, because you can't charge up your smash using the c-stick. However, I do like using the classic controller I have becuase I can hit special, attack, and jump a lot faster, but the Wii Remote + Nunchuck work fine.

The c-stick is very nice because you can use it for aerial attacks to ensure against accidentally moving in the direction of the attack.  The dashing up smash is also much more difficult to pull off with any other control scheme whereas it's simply running and c-sticking up on the GC controller.

I'm sure you do fine with Wiimote or Classic with your friends, but against more skilled players (who will be using GC controllers) you will be at a disadvantage.
