The c-stick is very nice because you can use it for aerial attacks to ensure against accidentally moving in the direction of the attack. The dashing up smash is also much more difficult to pull off with any other control scheme whereas it's simply running and c-sticking up on the GC controller.
I'm sure you do fine with Wiimote or Classic with your friends, but against more skilled players (who will be using GC controllers) you will be at a disadvantage.
