From what I have seen I so far it looks like all three will buils a console for the next round.
MS finally made money and seems to have learned much from their first two outings. PS3 is finally getting its legs and will probably beat MS in the long run. I think they learned a lot this console release arrogance and price point being the main 2. WII is dominating so Nintendo is for sure back again.
For a fourth company entering I think its a long shot they would need DEEP POCKETS cause as MS learns it takes a while to build up the fan base and get things right

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.
