I think it's a stupid idea - at least until they see how LBP does in the marketplace. It'll be a constant source of embarrassment for them if it's a failure.
Just imagine if they had made a dragon from Lair into their official mascot.
I mean, we all have great hopes for LBP but it could still suck in the end. People thought Lair was going to be great, too.
