I am a programmer and we use Windows for development and Linux for our servers. This is pretty much the norm in businesses. I have no problems what so ever with either, I get my work done no matter what I have to use. If I were to buy a gaming rig, it would come with some version of Windows on it most assuredly. Until I have problems with Windows, I will not use it in my home.
