True. I think LBP will sell though, so sackboy would become the playstation mascot. But it's not right now though. I mean, just labelling something a mascot doesn't guarantee it will become an icon for the brand, look at Nintendo.
Sure Mario, Samus, Link, Pikachu and Kirby have become mascots for the company, but there are many many MANY other characters introduced that have never gained that iconic status and instant recognition (most are infamous now though).
Same with the capcom mascot, the lame superhero, I don't even remember his name. Capcom labelled him as their mascot, but who do you remember? Ryu, Megaman and Leon from RE.
Problem now is, outside of the gaming fraternity, how many people know who sackboy is?
