Do note, this is not to be taken too seriously. You don't need to mention how Metacritic and Gamerankings don't really matter, because I already know they don't. This is just a fun speculation thread over whether all five Summer of Arcade games can garner 90%+ review averages on the two sites.
Week One: Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2=90%-This is teetering on the edge, but I have a feeling it can stay afloat with the amount of content it brought forward.
Week Two: Braid=93%-This game is a shoe in at this point and has been growing in it's average all week. The real question is if the little guy can see end of the year GOTY nominations the same way Portal got last year.
Week Three: Bionic Commando Rearmed=85%-Not off to a good start, but it's being brought so low from one 7/10 review from Official Xbox Magazine. I think this may never quite see that coveted 90% average but will settle in close, around 86-88%
Week Four: Galaga Legions=???????-Can the first sequel to Galaga pull through and get that Space Invaders Extreme attention? If it plays as good as it looks, I say it just might. Then again, with Geometry Wars 2 so close in release, there may be a bit of backlash for this game negatively. I am a hopeful brother though, so I will give it the benefit of the doubt and land it square at 90%.
Week Five: Castle Crashers=??????-Oh please. This isn't a question as it's more a how close to 100% can this game possibly get? This is a perfect game if there ever was one. Every 360 owner wants it. Every member of this forum that doesn't own a 360 says this is the one game they would want on their own console. The only thing that could take this game down from 100% would be asshole reviewers and knocking points off based on price. I'm going to say 96% and that's as pessimistic as I'm going.
So that's it. As you can all see, I think Bionic Commando is going to ruin it for all of us, and maybe Galaga Legions if it doesn't play it's cards right. Castle Crashers will save the day as usual, and go on to sell Nintendogs numbers as we all switch our online priorities from Halo 3 to this godly masterpiece of beat em up and RPG.
