Is there an actual point to this game yet or is it just a bunch of running around?

And I don't think the cloth simulation is really the game's main selling point. :p

You do know that the levels are all user created right? So you can make 'em just running around or a lot more complex than that. If this game is just running around then Mario is just jumping around :)

All I know is if this idea was Nintendo and they brought a game where players from all over the world create all the levels in very easy and fun ways and it featured co op creating and playing then this game would be welcomed as the second coming of christ but because it's Sony it gets all the skepticism.

If Nintendo had come out with this, then you and others here would be saying how kiddie and pointless it is. How it is so not "hard-core" and just for "casuals".

If it were on the Wii I might give it a rent since I have a Wii, but I would still be saying the same exact thing: unless there's something beyond building and sharing, it's going to get old after several days.

Just like super mario world got old.

Super Mario World and LBP are two completely different games. LBP is essentially a level editor that makes BSP blocks and shows off physics.

If you're going to compare to a game, it would be closer to Sim City in that it's a game without any real point (and not knocking on Sim City, I love the games) except so far LBP has even less of a point and a lesser scale than Sim City (build and manage an entire city versus building a level).
