Yep. Newt got a bad rap. His own party tarred and feathered him and ran him out on the rail. Part of that was his fault though. The budget conflict was one thing, but Newt had a habit of being a bit too frank, and that was his undoing. Funny, a polititian blacklisted for being honest. All things said and done, he was a great Speaker of the House and he did more to cut back big government than any Republican in a long time. Of course, it is always funny to see people credit Clinton for this when Clinton actually fought many of those cuts.
I give that post a 9.8.
