Whoa are you serious? kingdom hearts appeals to the core since it has the FF characters plus without square enix kingdom hearts would be a  average disney game the design of sora,riku,kairi look like square characters not like disney's.

 

What soriku said. ALso Disney owns all new characters that are made. So even though Nomura made the designs for Sora,Riku,etc Disney owns them. Also I seriously don't see how having a few Final Fantasy characters makes the game core? Wouldn't that be the gameplay and the story that makes the game core. I wouldn't really compare KH without final fantasy Characters to High School Musical.
