It happens for every game, even GTAIV got a little of it but the loudest ones were pro GTAIV.
Brawl and definetly MKWii got some, Halo wasn't spared and neither is Gears 2, Kilzone... get my point...
It's not unique to LBP, it just that any negativity towards the game using the described logic can't be argued definitavely.
So I'm sure that's why the FUD grew.
