My Xbox has always been horizontal, as was my Gamecube when I still used it. Pretty surprising, huh? =P
My Wii is currently vertical, completely, because I'm low on space and it worked out the best this way. If I had one of the HD behemoths then I'd probably keep them horizontal, because it seems more natural and safe to me.
