Violence Filters, Whats the point?

However kids are smarter than their parents these days and they could easily circumvent these restrictions in place and play the games the way they should be played 'all blood and gore'. Sooner or later the kids are going to be exposed to violence whether it be in real-life in America, on tv or a video game.

Find the filters a joke all you want.  Just because you have no use for the feature does not mean it has no value to anyone else.  Why not just, not use the filter then?  No harm to you, why be childish and slam such things for being a joke?  Grow up, the world is not according to Rock, as much as you may convince yourself it is.  My 2 year old does not need to see the gore.  Eventually he will see such things, no reason to show him now.  So either I only play games late at night, so he can't see, or they add a much appreciated violence filter, and I can play the game when I want.
