The bolded statement is incorrect. http://pc.ign.com/articles/068/068975p1.html "Unfortunately, though we do know that the game will get a simultaneous PC/Mac release sometime in the middle of next year, they've only released a taste of the plot, and one (yes, ONE) screenshot." http://gamescontent.com/article/312/Halo_Brings_Action_Gamers_A_World_Without_End?cb=209 "The product of the team of master craftsmen who created the multi-award-winning Myth and Marathon series, Halo is being developed for simultaneous release on the Macintosh and Windows platforms."
Both release announcements were made before MS bought Bungie, so they're not referring to the releases after the Xbox version. Also, there were demonstrations of the protoype shown in public on both platforms before the MS purchase of Bungie. I remember feeling like Bungie had betrayed Mac users when they announced that the PC and Mac releases would be simultaneous... in the past they were either Mac-only or released for Mac first.

Thats interesting I was under the impression that it was being made first for mac and then later being ported to the pc. Nevertheless perhaps the success of Halo might have allowed Apple more options at approaching the gaming market.
