When Sony bought FF away from Nintendo, it was much worse... because it meant LESS gamers could play those games. This is the complete opposite. As a fan, you should be happy to see your favourite franchise gain more attention.
Regarding the N64/PS1/Cartridge/CD issue: You, me, we all have no idea what really happened. Maybe you remember that the PS1 originally was a Sony/Nintendo collaboration and was meant to be a SNES add on? Why did the deal fail? We will never really know, but you're being naive if you think that Sony only tried to promote the technical progress for the benefit of gamers...
