The only thing they have a monopoly on is the NFL license. All-Pro Football was a attack at that.
EA does not have a monopoly because anyone else is free to develop sports games. EA just happens to be the only company that tries to create every sports game (Rockstar owns the Table Tennis sport, though, and Sony is head on baseball usually).
I see no reason to boycott the best college football game.
