UHG! Why does no one seem to get it. The reason I blame MS and SE becuase it is rightfully so. I do not downplay Sony's part, as if they had marketed the PS3 strongerthey might have gotten way better sales. (I had not seen a PS3 commercial in US till the "Ladies and Gentleman" one). I also do not appreciate them taking out one of their most key features, BC, in order to quelle tha massive winers going "ITS too EXSPENSIVE, WAAAAAAAAH!"(Which is utter bullshit, seeing as the prices of the two systems are fairly similar when u add in all the surcharges on the 360 side). But Sony did their side of the bargain by supplying the strongest system on the market. Yes it is difficult, but when you are striving for perfection shouldnt it be?

And,not saying this to just you, but the Nintendo-Square split is constantly ill used in these forums. With a little reasearch one will find that SS had no choice but to abandon the Nintendo seeing as their newest title(FFVII) was betting on the CD upgrade. Nintendo failed them. It was not becuz of money, but becuz it was what was best for advancing the game to make it better. This is not the case. What I am getting at if a company wants our money they should be striving to give us the best game POSSIBLE! And if you still want to tread the fine line that, "OH NOs! Square is out of money!" check my OP, which once again I think some have neglected to actually read due to its longevity.....

Where's your evidence for this?  Do you really believe the motivation of these companies is to please the hardcore fans, as opposed to making as much money as possible?  If that's the case, they should be releasing the game as a PC exclusive, because it can do far more than the PS3 does.

Nintendo did fail them, but not because of the media format.  Take a look at DQ9, headed for the DS - it tells us two things:
1) Developers will put up with catridges if that's where the money is at.
2) They are not "for advancing their game to make it better."  Otherwise, why wouldn't DQ9 be on the PSP?  They put it on the system with the largest userbase, not the Sony system, or the one with better graphics.

It's simple - the best console to put a game on is the one it will sell the most on.  That's all it is.  The PS1 was not completely superior to the N64, and the PS2 was the weakest system last gen, yet all the FF's still came out on those systems, because that's where the money was.

Even if SE aren't having money problems, they could always use more.  You ask why SO4, Last Remnant, and whatever else is exclusive - I'd guess they were paid by Microsoft for it.  That doesn't change the fact that FF13 will still make more money if it were released to a larger userbase.  If anything, you should be more disappointed at SE having these 360 exclusives rather than FF13 also being ported to another system, because going multiplatform is actually the move that makes sense.

Oh, and FF6 > FF7 btw
