Lost Boys: The Tribe wasn't a terrible movie. It wasn't good, but it wasn't terrible. It was good fun in the same way Lost Boys was but this was not a Lost Boys movie.

Lost Boys made this nice little universe and it worked. Lost Boys: the Tribe took all that and just completely threw it out the window. In fact, the only reasons they made it a Lost Boys movie was so that they could have the Frog Brother and the song. Other than that, the similarities ended.

I can handle a bad movie with plot holes or funny little things but here are the problems I had:

  1. What was the deal with the vampire they killed in the opening scene? He wasn't their old head vampire because the guy had no clue who he was so what was the point in making him a vampire.
  2. Speaking of that guy, why did they need the head? It didn't seem to matter to any other vampire.
  3. For some odd reason they turned to stone and exploded in a dramatic effect or caught on fire so they could have a catchy one liner. Those ones they couldn't really think of a cool effect or one liner, well those vampires weren't special enough for a unique effect and just died.
  4. What was the crap about the dead rose and bringing it back to life?  I didn't know vampires bring things back to life.
  5. Half-vampire? Really? In the first that didn't seem to matter so much, you just had to kill the head vampire.
  6. The two vampires that kept "killing" each other was just stupid. One had his guts spilling all over the place but he didn't care. He's undead so whatever, but that just seems silly.
  7. Vampire must live in a place with a history of misery and they would never be caught dead in a house? Hmm, well the head vampire in the Lost Boys lived in a house and the others lived in a random cave.
  8. No guardian for the head vampire in this movie but then again I don't think there really was a head vampire. I think by the end of the movie they just stopped caring since the head vampire couldn't have been a vampire for more than 5 years. Even if I assume he's only 10 that's still pretty pathetic.
  9. Why was Edgar a shaper? Were the writers just really that lost to find a way to send the dude to him? Even when he got to his place it was obvious that Edgar wanted nobody there but for some reason he needs a surf board shaper (or whatever a shaper is-- why did they choose surfinf of all things?).
  10. So if you get ordained on the internet you can make holy water? This isn't really a continuity gripe it's just a general gripe. I don't want to get into a religious debate here but being ordained on the internet means absolutely nothing yet it still can let you make holy water that makes a vampires head explode. If that were the case, any idiot could just do something crazy like make the ocean holy water. If you want to kill surfing vampires, that would probably be the way to do it.

I had a bunch of other problems with the movie, most little things that I really don't need to gripe about because they don't matter and others I'm just too tired to get into but still, this wasn't a Lost Boys movie.

I hate it when people just use a name to attract people to an otherwise not that great movie just in the hopes to gain a few more sales.
