If you're going to compare then do it right. GT5 MUST be compared to GT3, not 4, same goes for FF. The first release of a series on next gen hardware is a more accurate comparison. Also there HAS NOT been ANY "big" software titles out yet, Motorstorm maybe(it's close to 1 million I think), but not really, it's not in the same boat as MGS4, Ratchet & Clank, GTAIV, GT5, FFXIII, which are all proven series that people are waiting for.

On topic, he is somewhat right if you think of price point. The PS3 "should" be at $399 or less by xmas 08(hopefully $299) and this will have a huge impact on sales, with many AAA titles already available and more on the way. Though in hindsight I wouldn't have recommended he opened his mouth about this. Who the hell is this guy anyways?

This is why I never listen to these jackasses!

It really depends on what you mean by "big titles" ...

So far the PS3 has had a reasonable number of high-quality exclusive titles and a lot of high-quality multiplatform titles released for a system this early in its life; before many of these games were released there was always discussions of "PS3 Domination starts with -=name of game=-" only after they sold below expectations did they become a "small title"

One of the biggest problems with assuming that 2008 will be better or more important for the PS3 is that the assumption is made based on other assumptions; the assumption of a price cut, the assumption the PS3 will sell well enough to keep its exclusives, and the assumption that certain unannounced or rumored games will be released in time. If you play this game with any of the consoles they will have massive success in the 2008 holiday season (if you assume that third parties will continue increasing support for the Wii from now until holdiay 2008 then the Wii is going to crush the competition in Holiday 2008).
