Basically all the franchises that are mainly multiplayer games. Because with those games, you don't care about too much repetition anyways, you can play them all day long. When there are new ones all the time, you and your mates have to learn the new tricks, maps, courses or whatever, which means there's less time that you actually enjoy with great multiplayer matches.

So those are typical games that come to my mind: (As a Nintendo player, I can't list games that aren't on Nintendo platforms)

Mario Kart
Smash Brothers
Mario Party
Mario Sports (one per Sport is fine)
F-Zero
Wave Race
FPS franchises (this one is a little special because you can also play them alone)
FIFA, Madden etc.

Basically, Sports, Party, Fighting and Racing games are the ones that shouldn't come out more than once in a generation.

There's no problem when there's a second Mario platformer, FF RPG or Zelda adventure during the same gen, even if it doesn't innovate much, because it's just funnier to get through a new adventure instead of the old one for a second time. Nobody complained when there where three FF on the SNES that had about the same graphics and gameplay, or that there where three Donkey Kong platformers on the SNES, and there's no reason to complain as long as the games are actually good.
