 agreed. production costs are going to be down in the not too distant future, they already have gone done significantly since launch.

BC is achieved by using the exact components that are in the PS2PS1? They cannot be "cost reduced" any further. Prolly cost more due to lack of quantity.

BC most likely adds a good $30-$35 to the cost of each console.

 

 

 

 Every PS3 SKU has PS1 B/C...and the limited 80GB bundles did not use PS2 hardware components (removed the ee chip)
