Both Ossetia and Abhazia have always wanted to be independent, but it's complicated. Those territories have always belonged o the Georgians, but ever since the Soviet block crashed and burned, the Russians have done all in their power to make those provinces start fightng against Georgia itself. it happened in the 90, and it's happening again now.
Yet even with the independence claims, you can be more than sure, that those provinces will not be able to function normally on their own, and will gladly take "help" from russia if such will be offered. And it will. All this is just a play for local domination.
Huh. Who would've thought that beggining anew in my real life would coincide with starting anew on vgchartz?
Any day now, the dollar will be worth less than 2 zloty......any day now.....and my life savings will be in total jepordy ;(.
