Well the majority of the planet is African, Chinese, and Indian, so the skin colors might not match up, but the vast majority of the world's resources belong to rich white people, so if there's a crisis that insane I don't think it's too crazy for them to just hide while all the colored people starve and kill each other.
And you're thinking of The Cable Guy, directed by Ben Stiller. It was good, but not due to Matthew Broderick's lack of acting.
