This has been fixed since and I've been playing mission mode without a hitch.
I don't think it has been fixed. I've only been prompted to install one update for the game, which is the one that's supposed to cause the problems. I read somewhere that it freezes on a certain cut scene (at the end of level 10 I think), but I'm not that far through the game yet. I haven't had any problems though, but I'll wait and see what happens when I hit level 10.
If you haven't yet bought the game, you could buy it and play it offline. That way you won' t be forced to install the update and you can wait until it's sorted out. There's no online play anyway is there? It's just high score tables I think.
