With a userbase of currently ~45m Nintendo already had double digit million selling games and some others are close to it and will most likely pass the 10m mark as well. Sure, the GBA had a userbase of ~75m, but most of the top selling Nintendo games were enhanced ports of NES or SNES games, while the DS gets/got original games and true sequels to the established franchises, that's the important difference. Seeing that the Wii is following a similar pattern to the DS, it's very likely that several Nintendo games on the Wii will sell 10m+ units. |
The question is can Wii Sports be the first game to hit treble digit million figures? If it stays as a pack-in in most of the world then it's certainly possible.
