There is one thing you ought not to forget is that Wii isn't all about the new audience. It's about expanding the market. By expanding the market, there is still place for older franchises to thrive on the Wii. What a lot of HD fanboy fear is that the 3rd party companies supporting the HD platforms start moving their "hardcore" franchises on the Wii and trying to "casualize" them. So it's not all about a dichotomy but more about a fear of being left behind.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...
