Back in the late 80's and early 90's, Nintendo's main competition in the console market was Sega. Nintendo had the NES, Sega had the SMS. Nintendo had the SNES, Sega had the Genesis. During the Genesis era, Sega started running an aggressive ad campaign against Nintendo with the tagline "Genesis does what Nintendon't", basically touting the Genesis as a better, more powerful, and more fun machine. It would also seem to be the first shot fired in the ridiculous console war. People have been fighting over this crap ever since. Look it up on Youtube. The commercials are still up. |
ooh i see. well i owned a genesis back then :P
but see, i had no idea about that said console war and i could care less. i wanted to play sonic, so my mom got me a genesis. not because "oh sega is cooler"
