Judging by the nature of this site, I would say that 70% of the people here judge things based on sales. For example, before the DS took off many people considered the PSP to be a great system; however when the DS started blowing up the sales charts all of a sudden the PSP is crap, it's just ports, ect.
To aswer your question, no, I don't care care about sales at all. I prefer the N64 over the PS1, The gamecube over the PS2, and the PS3 over the Wii. Sales do not tell what console offers gaming at it's best...
