FFXIII might sell exceeding well. But in the case of comparisons with GTAIV and MGS4, both franchises since the beginning of the PS2 games have retained their the core, essential characteristic gameplay and features (GTA = sandbox, crime-sim, modern street life, pop-music. MGS = Stealth, Sci-Fi, lengthy storytelling, and theathrical presentation.) This gives the GTA and MGS franchises the staying power for their core fans. The only major characteristic that retained from FF to FF is the lengthy and theathrical presentation.
