To be honest I only look for what I believe is true, no matter how harsh, to me the fact that when I die I am gone may be somewhat depressing but at least its the truth. For me at least I simply cannot rationalize the existence of an omnipotent being. I can see how people would believe in a god - though I personally think the evidence is strongly against it - however I don't see how people can believe in a literal interpretation of the bible.
