I actually think with the new game of the year edition being released in October this year. There would be ample incentive for another expansion in the short term so that the new game can have two expansions rather then one which was only five dollars to begin with. So I expect something in October at least.
However I also expect Mass Effect 2 will be shown at Leipzig, and will receive a summer release for next year. They have a tight schedule yes. However most of the word behind Mass Effect was about it being recycled into a trilogy. So the next game shouldn't have quite that long a development cycle.
