I wouldn't be labelling games of a generation yet, it's wayyyy too early for that.
But from what's out thus far, my FAVOURITE (doesn't mean it's the best) is CoD4. That game was one kick to the face after another and it was awesome. MGS4 definitely has it's moments of wow, but it's not as frequent as CoD4 and the slowdown with certain parts really makes me lose interest in the game (then again, I'm not a die-hard fanatic of the MGS storyline).
Weird thing though, for some reason, I don't like the graphics in MGS4. It feels so artificial, it's not just the B&B corps beast appearance or the gecko's and things that aren't realistic (raiden's appearance), but none of the characters "come alive" if you get me. Sure they had emotions, but they didn't seem real and they felt forced by the animators and voice acting. Maybe it's just me, but I was pretty put off by the cutscenes because of that.
