Says the Nintendo fanboy.

Your predictions for PS3 in your sig is unrealistic. FACT.

They are only unrealistic if the PS3 stays at $599 if it goes down to around $399-$450 it has a better chance and seeing that Europe love the PS3 and MUCH MCUH better games are coming out and the Wii will be stunted by low stock and the X360 will be tarnished when the RROD goes to court or it gets to the press and is reported in the main Newspapers and not just the internet which it already has been over here in the UK but only in one paper and it was a very small article and MS will have to deal with low stock from Halo3 probably selling through the roof and X360's going with them then the only choice will be PS3 and even more will buy it than would of.

Ok Christmas sales break down like this for PS3:

NA:1.5million to 2million during Holiday season.

Europe:1.5million to 2million

Japan:0.5million to 1million

Others:0.5million to 1million

That means in the Holidays alone it will sell at least 4million units that IS REALISTIC!!!

I'm not sure your numbers are realistic.

93,0577,261,535
20,44412,561,930
51115,930,893
Total 817,103

Meaning the holiday sales of the systems were (approximately)

  1. Nintendo DS - 2,733,040
  2. Playstation 2 - 2,378,442
  3. XBox 360 - 1,917,744
  4. Gameboy Advance - 1,827,553
  5. Playstation Portable - 1,459,561
  6. Nintendo Wii - 1,241,320
  7. Playstation 3 - 746,653
  8. Gamecube - 325,946
  9. XBox - 10,008

Now the question is 'How does the sales of the PS3 compare to the sales of these systems?' To answer that let's look at the begining of the year numbers

The Week ending December 31st 2005

Hardware:

Console Weekly Total
152,41537,216,703
123,81136,117,363
104,4834,389,453
103,5033,938,274
55,05511,704,288
43,064651,336
42,92715,476,904
Total 625,258

The number of systems sold in 2006 before the holiday rush:

  1. Playstation 2 - 3,025,979
  2. Nintendo DS - 2,997,870
  3. Xbox 360 - 2,514,183
  4. Gameboy Advance - 1,902,596
  5. Playstation Portable - 1,863,700
  6. Gamecube - 531,696
  7. XBox - 443,981

The PS3 has sold 877,705 which means that we should expect its pre-holiday sales to be lower than the PSP's 2006 Pre-holiday sales and its sales across the holiday season would probably be lower than the PSP's 2006 holiday sales.

Basically, 1.5 is where the upper limit on the PS3's holiday sales in America should be
