So I went to CompUSA today expecting to see a stack of PS3's. I walk over to their games corner (which is just as unimpressive as any Comp USA games section) and I see a store clerk demoing the Wii letting a kittle kid play Wii Sports for a family (which I've never seen in a place besides Gamestop/EB Games) and someone playing a PS3 game. I looked around and actually did not see a PS3 in sight and was actually surprised.
I wasn't really expecting that so I decided to go ahead and take a look at Best Buy (I had just gotten coupons in the mail anyways for BB). When I first got there I looked in the usual place for their stacks of consoles and didn't see any 360's or PS3's sitting there as there usually are. I walk over to the 360 aisle and they have loads of them there and then walk down the PS3 aisle and see 3 with a little kid picking one up with a mother having a disappointed look on her face (not making this up). Once again, I'm impressed and I start going about my shopping for what I originally set out for. I start walking around and all of sudden notice a huge stack of PS3's (30+) on a palette sitting there completely untouched.
After that I made my way to Target for my usual shopping. I do my shopping and stop by their electronic section and notice 6 PS3's crammed into their display case.
I'm guessing the Comp USA shortage is mainly due to Comp USA sucks and it's not really a place where a lot of people go to shop for games. Their game section has always been incredibly small and their selection has always been pretty bad for console games at least.
Also, note that every place I went today had no Wii's in stock and this was around 2:30-3:30 PM and the Target I went to was the one that gets largest stock of Wii's (and I assume PS3's) in the area.
