Is that because New Zealanders have no morals or because New Zealanders are all hippies? If it's the second one then thats a pretty awesome stereotype.
Anyway, economically it costs a lot more to execute somebody in the USA than to support them for the rest of their natural life - that much is simply not arguable under the current system.
"Once a killer always a killer" is a fallicy and something that you made up with no scientific evidence, the only statistic I can find for the united states is that 1.2% of people convicted of homicide re-offend within three years of release - that is a fairly small number and certainly doesn't support your theory.
I do not believe that anybody or any organization has the right to take a human life unless it is in clear self defence, defence of another or defence of your country.
