JRPG's are niche market games. FF series is only JRPG series that is mainstream.

Dragon Quest(Mostly Japan, but also sells fairly well in the West, just not as good as it does in Japan), Star Ocean, Monster Hunter(Mostly Japan) Tales of(prety mainstream, the last title sold over 1mln WW) and Pokemon(especially, actually more mainstream than FF) are some other Mainstream Jrpgs. So I wouldn't say that.

Obviously JRPG's will sell well in Japan. I only count the US and European countries. The West is the only thing that matters to me. What happens in Japan regarding sales means nothing to me.

While what you said is going to come out ignorant, I'm going to flesh out your point a little. If these RPGs sell heavy in Japan only, it will force publishers to make hard decisions whether localization efforts are worth the other two terrritories' sales. Obviously Final Fantasy and Pokemon don't have these issues, but many other RPGs do with the added HD cost and lower returns.
